As you may be aware, the UK Government has recently published a proposal that cigars be sold in plain packaging – like cigarettes or rolling tobacco. It forms a part of their ‘Generational Smoking Ban’, and will have catastrophic consequences for the retail cigar sector. Many businesses will suffer as a result. Not in generations, but right now.
We strongly urge you to respond to the Government’s consultation questionnaire, and encourage your customers to play their part in letting the Government know what they think. It is vital that we communicate strongly what is wrong with this proposal. You have until October 2nd 2026 to have your say.Â
