Dear Members, Minutes of the 42nd AGM of The Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists held at Copt Heath Golf Club, Knowle, Solihull B93 9LN on Wednesday 13th November 2019. Chairman's opening remarks. Chairman welcomed everyone to the meeting. Welcome to any new Members present. There were no new members. To receive apologies for absence. Sheet attached. The full sheet showing all attendee’s and those who sent their apologies on the attached sheet. To adopt the minutes of the 41th Annual General Meeting of the Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists held at Copt Heath Golf Club, Knowle, Solihull, B93 9LN on Wednesday, 11thNovember 2018 and to deal with any matters arising. RM mentioned that they had not been adopted as the wording was missing from Item 4 of the Agenda. Presentation and adoption of accounts for the year ended 31st December 2018. KW presented the accounts for 2018. RM asked what was the other income on the sheet made up of, KW said it was fees from Jelf our Insurance Company who pay AITS a commission on all transactions and money from the Exhibition. CM asked why did we need such a large surplus in the AITS account. P.P explained that the money was needed to cover any legal problems our members need help with. As we all know the AITS is not a profit making organisation. A vote of thanks to KW for all the work he puts in to maintaining the financial side of the AITS was proposed by DW and seconded by SC. To agree the Annual Subscriptions for the coming year. It was agreed the Subscriptions for 2020/21 would stay as they are, £150.00 full membership, £40.00 per other shops and £25.00 joining fee (non refundable). To accept any new applications for membership. McCHRYSTALS (LEICESTER LIMITED) have applied for Membership and RAP is sending them a new membership form. Committee for 2018-2021 as elected at the last AGM November 2018 Only Committee change is Mark Brammer resigned earlier this year and Mukesh Gaglani has replaced him. All current Committee members are in office until November 2021. It was agreed that the Committee would look at reintroducing the Vice Chairman and Junior Vice Chairman roles by the next General Meeting April 2020. Any other business of the Annual General Meeting at the discretion of the Chairman. There was no other business and the meeting closed at 10.48.
