Chairman's opening remarks.PP welcomed all and hoped we would have some members on Zoom. PP also thanked the Committee for all their hard work during the past year. 1. Welcome to any new members present. No new members present although Surrey Cigars did try to Zoom. 2. To receive apologies for absence.HG, AS, MA. 3. To adopt the minutes of the 43th Annual General Meeting of the Association of Independent Tobacco Specialists held as a Zoom meeting on Wednesday 26th Jan 2022 and to deal with any matters arising. No matters arising so proposed by DW and seconded by SC. 5. Presentation and adoption of accounts for the year 1st Jan 21 to 31st Dec 21.Accounts were presented by MG and all were pleased with the balance sheet. 6 IGNITE 2023 UPDATE.DW gave an in-depth presentation on where we were and where we were going over the next few weeks. He explained in detail the Voucher System we would be using to get more retailers to the show. The scheme is as follows; each member will be given £200.00 worth of vouchers when they register at the show, non-members will be given £100.00. They can spend one £50.00 voucher at any participating Exhibitor. The cost of the voucher will be paid for, 50% by the Exhibitor and 50% by AITS. Exhibitor’s costs will be in the stand fees for 2024.CM agreed it was a good idea, but we need to ask why certain members do not attend. SV suggested when they register could they be asked for what reason are they attending the showRP there does seem to be a lack of understanding on transport facility’s and location of the venue. 7. Proposed new rules.New Rules were presented and reasons for the changes were explained by PP. They were proposed by DW and seconded by DS/MG. 8. To agree the Annual Subscriptions for the coming year.PP keeping it the same at £150. 9. Report regarding rules for accepting new members, type of accounts we want asmembers.PP have been looking at rules because of the type of retailer (or not) wanting to become members, online, selling from their bedroom and even individuals who just like smoking cigars, but we do have a good vetting system in place now. 10. Committee due for reselection at the next AGM.Committee staying the same till AGM 2023. 11. Track and Trace. Where are we for OTP, s.CM T&T looking good, but still lots of work to be done, and HMRC have made concessions. No T&T needed for naked and wrapped cigars. There will also be a 2yr sell through period that refers to pipe Tobacco’s only. This will be to 2026 for retailers. 12. Any other business of the Annual General Meeting at the discretion of the Chairman.RG 1 online retailer who was selling CBD products has had his merchant services withdrawn, and funds were not released. PP it appears that CBD products are being viewed worse than tobacco products.CM the gang of 4 can confirm that the Lords Lunch will be back next year. Date yet to be agreed depending on cricket matches. VAT situation has been sorted. The committee strongly advise members not to sell CBD products online. A Meeting of the Association will take place in March 2023 live and by Zoom. PP Meeting closed 12.58pm. Robin A Page General Secretary.
